Itinerary

Day 01:Guwahati–Shillong -Assam– Meghalya :Arrive at Guwahati airport, received and transferred to Shillong (130kms/3hrs drive), enroute stop at the scenic view point of the Umiam lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India), reach Shillong and check into hotel, after refreshment explore the local night markets of Shillong. Overnight at Shillong. Shillong is the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as "The Abode of Clouds", one of the smallest states in India. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet. Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India with population of 143,007 according tothe 2011 census. It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland. Hence, they would also refer to it as the "Scotland of the East"
 
Day 02:Shillong –Cherrapunjee–Shillong –Meghalya:Today after breakfast we set to explore Shillong and Cherrapunjee (56kms/02hrs drive), we will visit the Elephant falls and the drive further to Cherrapunjee, at Cherrapunjee we visit the Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest falls in the world), Mawsmai Cave, Danthlen Falls and Krem Falls. After exploring for the day we will drive back to Shillong and overnight stay.

Day 02:Shillong –Mawllynnong–Dawki–Shillong Meghalya: 
Today after breakfast we start our day for a day long excursion to Mawlynnong village (90kms/03 hrs drive from Shillong), leave at 8:00 A.M. Reach Mawlynnong and explore the cleanest village in Asia, we will also experience the wonder of the Khasi war Tribes – The Single Decker living Root Bridge at Riwai village. Also experience the panoramic view of the Bangladesh from 85 ft high sky walk made of bamboo by the locals. After exploring the village we can drive to Dawki village (20kms from the village), and go for a Boat ride in Umgot river bordering India and Bangladesh, also known as crystal clear lake. Back to Shillong and overnight stay.We suggest to get lunch packed from hotel.
 
Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighboring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.
 
Day 03: Shillong –Tezpur/Nameri Meghalya–Assam :Today after breakfast drive to Tezpur (270kms/07hrs drive), check into Hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay.
 
Day 04: Tezpur/Nameri–Dirang Assam – Arunachal :Today after breakfast we will drive to Dirang (200kms/09hrs drive). Enroute you can visit Tippi Orchid Research Centre. On reach Dirang if time permits we will visit Dirang Dzong and a Monpa village. Overnight in Dirang.
 
Day 05: Dirang– Tawang –Arunachal: Today after breakfast we visit the Dirang Monastery and then we proceed for Tawang (150 kms/ 09 hrs drive), enroute we will visit Sela Lake at Sela Pass (13476 ft), Jashwant Ghar and Nunarang Falls (also known as Jung Falls), reach Tawang and check into hotel and overnight stay.
 
Tawang: The name Tawang derives from some bearings on surroundings. But people's interpretation is that the name Tawang was given by Mera Lama in the 17th century. One can reach Tawang from other parts of the country via Guwahati and Tezpur in Assam. From Guwahati(Assam) or Tezpur(Assam), one has to go to Bhalukpong in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh and from there via Bomdila and Sela Pass one can goto Tawang by road.
 
Day 06: Tawang Arunachal:Today after breakfast we will go for a full day excursion in Tawang and in and around. We will visit Tawang Monastery, the world’s second largest practising Buddhist Monastery, Tawang War Memorial, Urgelling Monastery (the birth place of 6th Dalai lLama) Ani Gompa and if time permits we will visit local market. Evening back to Tawang and overnight stay.
 
Day 07: Tawang – Bomdila Arunachal : Today after an early breakfast we drive to Bomdila (195kms/08hrs drive), reach Bomdila and visit Bomdila Monastery and Bomdila Point, check into hotel and evening at leisure. Overnight at Bomdila.
 
Day 08:Bomdila  – Guwahati  -Arunachal – Assam 
Today after breakfast drive to Guwahati (350kms/11hrs). Evening at leisure. Overnight at Guwahati.
 
Day 09: Guwahati -  Assam -FLY
Today after breakfast drive to Guwahati airport (30kms/01hrs drive) for onward destination.

1.We have not categorized rates as Budget, Standard, Deluxe and Luxury, as we have Budget and Standard hotels in Northeast India and few Deluxe hotels and there is no Luxury Hotels as such, we try to give a clear picture of the hotels we used and categorize them so that expectations are not high when clients travels here. So in some places the room category differs the price where good hotels are not available.
 
2.For wildlife itineraries we have added the minimum activities that are required to cover respective area, if any clients would mind to change the activities then the itinerary can be customized accordingly.
 
3.Hotels in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura are Non star category
4. Inner Line Permits are required to enter Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram
 
5.Road condition in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram are not good including some parts of Assam,Tripura and Meghalaya.
 
6.We avoid to take tours in Monsoon Season (June,July and August) however some places in Northeast are best during this season.
 
7.Guest with adventurous mind should travel to Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and some parts of Northeast India.
 
8.In this region there are no relevance between the distance and time travelling as it depends upon the conditions of roads and congestion of traffic.
 
9.Mobile services may not be active in all destinations. Pre-paid roaming and International roaming connection does not work in this region.
 
10.Credit Cards / Traveler’s cheque are not freely accepted.
 
11.Every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of local strikes, landslide etc., which are beyond our control all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes and any additional cost, will be borne by the guests directly.
